Kings Advance in Play-In with Convincing Win Over Warriors
Keegan Murray Leads the Way with 32 Points
Sacramento Continues Playoff Push
The Sacramento Kings have secured their spot in the 2024 NBA Playoffs after defeating the Golden State Warriors 118-94 in the Play-In Tournament. Star sophomore Keegan Murray led the way for the Kings with a game-high 32 points, 9 rebounds, and 4 assists.
The Kings, who finished the regular season as the ninth seed in the Western Conference, were determined to make amends for last year's Play-In defeat at the hands of the Minnesota Timberwolves. They jumped out to an early lead against the Warriors and never looked back.
Murray, who was selected fourth overall in the 2023 NBA Draft, proved to be an unstoppable force for the Kings. He was efficient from the field, shooting 12-of-19, and he also contributed 4 rebounds and 3 assists.
De'Aaron Fox was another key contributor for the Kings, scoring 24 points and dishing out 7 assists. Harrison Barnes added 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Domantas Sabonis chipped in with 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Warriors, who were the 10th seed in the West, were led by Stephen Curry's 27 points. However, Curry struggled with his shooting, going just 9-of-25 from the field. Klay Thompson added 17 points, and Jordan Poole scored 15.
With the win, the Kings advance to the first round of the playoffs, where they will face the top-seeded Phoenix Suns. The Suns will be a tough opponent, but the Kings have shown that they are capable of competing with the league's best teams.
