Inter Miami Thrashes Toronto Fc 4 0 Moves Closer To Mls Playoffs

Inter Miami thrashes Toronto FC 4-0, moves closer to MLS playoffs

Taylor's late goal seals comfortable win

Robert Taylor came off the bench to lift Inter Miami to a massive 4-0 victory over Toronto FC that saw them move ever closer to an MLS playoff berth.

Alejandro Pozuelo, Ariel Lassiter, and Bryce Duke also scored for Inter Miami, who dominated the match from start to finish.

The win was Inter Miami's third in a row and moved them into seventh place in the Eastern Conference standings, just two points behind the sixth-place New York Red Bulls.

Toronto FC, meanwhile, remained in 13th place, seven points adrift of the playoff places.

The match was played in front of a sell-out crowd at the DRV PNK Stadium, who were treated to a dominant performance from their team.

Inter Miami took the lead in the 25th minute when Pozuelo curled a free-kick into the top corner of the net.

Lassiter doubled the lead just before half-time, heading home from close range after a cross from Duke.

Duke added a third in the 65th minute, finishing off a fine move involving Pozuelo and Lassiter.

Taylor completed the scoring in the 85th minute, slotting home from close range after being set up by Pozuelo.

The win was a huge boost for Inter Miami's playoff hopes, and they will now be looking to build on this momentum when they face the New England Revolution on the road next weekend.
