The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Bakersfield reported that multiple big rigs were involved in the collision.
Road Closures
As a result of the crash, all northbound lanes of Interstate 5 over the Grapevine were closed. Additionally, lanes of southbound Interstate 5 just south of Grapevine Road were also closed due to a multi-vehicle crash.
Fatalities
