## What is the Washington Commanders Roster? The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The Commanders play their home games at FedExField in Landover, Maryland. The Commanders were founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves. The team relocated to Washington, D.C. in 1937 and was renamed the Redskins. The team name was changed to the Commanders in 2022. The Commanders have won three NFL championships, in 1937, 1942, and 1982. The team has also appeared in four other Super Bowls, losing in 1972, 1983, 1987, and 1991. The Commanders current roster includes the following players: * Quarterbacks: Carson Wentz, Taylor Heinicke, and Sam Howell * Running backs: Antonio Gibson, Brian Robinson Jr., and J.D. McKissic * Wide receivers: Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, and Jahan Dotson * Tight ends: Logan Thomas, Cole Turner, and John Bates * Offensive linemen: Charles Leno Jr., Wes Schweitzer, Andrew Norwell, Trai Turner, and Sam Cosmi * Defensive linemen: Jonathan Allen, Montez Sweat, Daron Payne, and Chase Young * Linebackers: Cole Holcomb, Jamin Davis, and Khaleke Hudson * Cornerbacks: Kendall Fuller, William Jackson III, and Benjamin St-Juste * Safeties: Kam Curl, Bobby McCain, and Jeremy Reaves * Special teams: Tress Way (punter), Joey Slye (kicker), and Camaron Cheeseman (long snapper) The Commanders are led by head coach Ron Rivera. Rivera was hired in 2020 after previously coaching the Carolina Panthers. The Commanders are looking to improve on their 7-10 record from 2021. The team has a number of talented players on both sides of the ball and should be competitive in the NFC East in 2022.
