## What is the Washington Commanders Roster? The Washington Commanders are a professional American football team based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. They compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The Commanders play their home games at FedExField in Landover, Maryland. The Commanders were founded in 1932 as the Boston Braves. The team relocated to Washington, D.C. in 1937 and was renamed the Redskins. The team name was changed to the Commanders in 2022. The Commanders have won three NFL championships, in 1937, 1942, and 1982. The team has also appeared in four other Super Bowls, losing in 1972, 1983, 1987, and 1991.
